SIPL students’ project on estimating human BMI from a single image was presented in a demo session at ICME 2025 this month. The project was perfromed by Ido Sagi & Tzvi Tal Noy, and was supervised by Nurit Spingarn.

This week at ICASSP 2025, two undergraduate teams from SIPL presented their papers!
1️⃣RTF Estimation Using Riemannian Geometry for Speech Enhancement in the Presence of Interferences – Or Ronai and Yuval Sitton, supervised by Amitay Bar and Ronen Talmon.
2️⃣Hyperbolic Distance Based on EMD and Diffusion for Hyperspectral Imaging – Amir Bourvine and Elad Lavi, supervised by Ya-Wei Eileen Lin and Ronen Talmon.
The Thomas Schwartz Award for outstanding image processing project was awarded this year to Ido Sagi & Tzvi Tal Noy, supervised by Nurit Spingarn, for their project, “Estimating BMI from 2D Image”.
