This week, SIPL students Ori Indig and Yoav Wolff presented a poster at the 14th Tel Aviv University Underwater Acoustics Symposium.
Their project, supervised by Saar Poplinger and Hadas Ofir, focuses on uncertainty quantification in underwater acoustic transmission loss.
Two teams of SIPL undergraduate students presented their projects this week at EUSIPCO 2026 in Bruges, Belgium.

Three student teams, two from our lab and one from the VISL lab, presented live project demonstrations at the Israel Machine Vision Conference (IMVC) 2026. The presentations took place at our faculty’s booth, which was one of the largest and most impressive at the conference.
Two students from our lab, Shira Bermats and Shakedd Levi, supervised by Yair Moshe,demonstrated their project, “Remote PPG-Based Vital Signs Monitoring”, at Computex 2026 in Taipei – one of the biggest and most influential technology tradeshows in the world!. They were invited to showcase their work at the SD Association booth. This opportunity comes just a few months after they won 1st place in the SD Express International Student Project Competition.
This week, SIPL students Itay Mendelovich (in the photo) and Sha Zemah-Shamir, supervised by Tomer Eini, presented a poster at the TAU Underwater Acoustics Symposium.
Their project focuses on Acoustic-Based Estimation for Underwater Transmitter Localization – using sound to pinpoint objects underwater! Well done to the entire team đź‘Źđź‘Ź

Two students from our lab, Shira Bermatz and Shakedd Levi, supervised by Yair Moshe, won 1st place in the international SD Express Student Project Competition. Organized by the SD Association (the global body that sets SD card standards), the competition featured 21 students from leading universities worldwide. For their project, “Remote PPG-Based Vital Signs Monitoring,” the students have been awarded $20,000 and will be invited to present their work at an international tradeshow.
SIPL student Adam Katav, presented his work, co-authored with Yair Moshe and Israel Cohen, at EUSIPCO 2025 in Palermo, focusing on speaker verification in highly noisy environments.
SIPL students’ project on estimating human BMI from a single image was presented in a demo session at ICME 2025 this month. The project was performed by Ido Sagi & Tzvi Tal Noy, and was supervised by Nurit Spingarn. Click here to watch a short demo.
